Please welcome a very special (and immensely talented) guest today on the blog for my What’s Sexy Now Series!
Dr. Alexandria Le is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist, teacher, and arts advocate. Her multifaceted career has brought her dynamic presence to the world’s most illustrious concert venues, like NYC’s Carnegie Hall and Paris’ Salle Cortot, to the farthest-reaching places where music is hardest to reach, like the jails of Riker’s Island. She is a laureate of over 20 first-prize music awards, holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in piano performance, and is a Yamaha Artist of which there are fewer than 150 worldwide on their classical roster. After establishing her career for over 15 years in New York, she returned to her roots in Las Vegas to make a difference through performing, teaching, and community outreach. What does sexy mean to you?
Perhaps it’s being from Las Vegas, but I’m desensitized to traditional tropes of “sexy”. I truly see more than just what’s skin deep. Opposite from basing this answer on physical appearance, being “sexy” to me is that place where someone is feeling in complete confidence in whatever they happen to be doing in the moment and being passionate or dedicated to it. (And off-the-charts sexy is when they’ve reached a level of mastery.) It’s very alluring seeing someone in their element. And it’s sexy when there’s no arrogance attached to it.
What, in your opinion, makes a woman sexy?
Whenever a woman carries herself with quiet, inner confidence, and when she’s bringing 100% of herself to whatever she’s doing! It gives a sexy strut to our step!
What, in your opinion, makes a man sexy?
Same answer goes here–the confidence they display while doing something they’re really good and passionate about is sexy. But I must also say, in a world where I feel like there is more pressure on women to look their best and to put their best foot forward (though over-dousing the cologne is not sexy, haha).
Tips on keeping a relationship sexy?
Listen to what your partner enjoys (make the conversation judgement free, for them and yourselves!) and see if you can deliver what that enjoyment is to them.
A celebrity that you find sexy?
Hugh Jackman. Can’t say no to someone who’s Wolverine AND on Broadway, complete with an Australian accent.
Film, show, scene or literature that you find erotic?
There’s a piece of music that I find absolutely erotic. It’s the slow (Andante) movement of Rachmaninoff’s Sonata for Cello and Piano. There’s a very sensual way that Rachmaninoff wrote this music (also, the reverberations of the cello’s tenor voice just reaches you to the core, especially in-person). You can feel the slow, intense buildup as the melodic lines of the piano and cello weave through each other. The music’s rhythm undulates. As the piece crescendos, it peaks at this perfect climax. Then, a beautiful release. And there’s a followup climax, because once isn’t enough. So. Good. (I recommend listening to Yuja Wang & Gautier Capucon’s version.)
Song or Album that never fails to put you in a sexy mood:
Sexyback, Justin Timberlake. I probably danced most to this song in the late 2000s in form-fitting clothes, haha! (See answer below about when I feel my sexiest.)
Fashion trend, item or designer collection that you find sensually appealing:
A well-tailored suit gets me every time.
Sexy destination:
A luxurious hot springs retreat.
Local Vegas spot that’s sexy to you:
Difficult question to answer, because it’s dependent on the company I’m with!
What makes you feel sexy?
Whenever I move my body with music. That moment when my guy puts his hand on me to draw me in for a kiss. Finding that outfit that makes me go “mmmmhm” in the mirror.
