Valentine’s Day is coming up and it’s one of my favorite holidays. What’s not to adore about an opportunity to celebrate romance, love and sensuality? It’s such a sweet day to shower more love on your partner and/or self (for you single gals, like me, out there!). So, I thought I’d post some ideas to sweeten the day a little bit, from luxury high-end to lower cost experiences.
Gifts
For her:
Jewelry
In my opinion, you just can’t get any sexier than a LOVE bracelet screwed onto your wrist by your lover. They have several different price points for these, but this is definitely a higher-end item.
Kiss Necklace by Paloma Picasso
Depending on the length, depth and commitment level of your relationship, perhaps “kiss” might be more suitable than “love”. Tiffany and Co. have two versions of this pendant.
XOXO Ring from Etsy
A sweet sentiment of hugs and kisses at a more affordable cost.
Lingerie:
Agent Provocateur – Give her a gift card for this luxury lingerie line and schedule a private in-store fitting appointment for her to make it extra special.
You can’t go wrong with Honey Birdette either. I’m lusting over their Donatella 3 piece set, personally. (That would look hot in a boudoir shoot, ladies!) Or give her something a little more Valentine-y like their Jessica bustier set.
A Boudoir Session!
Give her a gift you will benefit from too with boudoir. You’ll not only end up with photos of your partner that you are sure to appreciate but the sexy self-confidence she gains from this will radiate to other areas of your relationship too. Email me here to inquire about giving the gift of boudoir this holiday.
For him:
“Storied treasures in the way of fine wines, foods, toys, tools, spirits, accessories and tech items delivered to your door along with a book published to tell their story.”
Get his adrenaline pumping by gifting him with a racing adventure that fulfills his need for speed.

Experiences
A home-cooked meal:
Perhaps an easy but fancy recipe like Steak Au Poivre would be a nice treat. Anthony Bourdain had a good one right here (I miss that man terribly). Or try Alton Brown’s (here) that comes with a video tutorial.
My friend Paul knows how to provide an amazing home dining experience for his Valentine. Here’s an idea that he shared with me that he did one year for his date:
“Buy wine and nice things for dinner. Create a fancy menu in Word, with nice fonts, include the fancy descriptions like a restaurant would. Research the region of the wine. Include notes about the region, the taste profile of the wine. Get dressed up and present it to your partner as if they are traveling that region alone and your dining room is the 5 star restaurant and you are the waiter/sommolier. Play classical music from that region. Use a terrible but adorable accent.”
The planning part of a themed dining experience like this is half the fun! And, the recipient will appreciate all of the effort you put into the tiniest of details.
Sensual Massage
In my last post I talked about how I feel it’s important to keep learning about what I like erotically as a single woman. One of the things I have been reading up on is the art of sensual massage. I’m going to be an expert by the time I finally get my hands on someone, I swear. Ha. But, in learning about this, I have realized how our culture is in a weird space currently where we seem to skip right over foreplay and go straight to the other stuff. The foreplay is where we get to explore and discover though. Not just things about our partners but about ourselves. A sensual massage is a perfect way to slow it all down for a bit so you can feel and relish every single sensation that’s happening to you or lovingly and sensually dote on your partner. It also encourages good communication for what you and your partner even like or not.
Set the stage by indulging all of the senses. Have a sultry playlist of songs helping to set the mood. Spend some time curating your own, getting yourself in the mood while you do so – or you could use my Rendezvous Spotify Playlist, if you are lacking time. Have scented candles softly scenting the atmosphere and a luxurious body oil on-hand. Do a full body massage or for the more adventurous, try a tantric Lingham or Yoni massage.
Spa Day
I highly recommend one of the Sahra Hammam experiences at The Cosmopolitan. A friend said it was one of the best things she ever did with her husband as a couple.
“A signature and unforgettable experience of luxury…an enriching journey of awakening and renewal. Our ritual space is a modern homage to a sensual, centuries-old practice of purification. A ritual of heat and renewal, it combines body detoxification, steam treatments, and a cooling bath, all conducted in an atmosphere of deep, grounding warmth. Guests often conclude a hammam treatment with a full-body massage. The hammam room contains the heated motherstone slab, two whirlpools, steam rooms, and stone loungers. It can be used privately or with up to three people.”
Just look at how sexy this treatment room is (here)!

Make Your Own Art
“The ‘Love Is Art‘ kit includes everything a couple needs to craft a one-of-a-kind abstract painting while being intimate with one another. What is left is a unique painting that represents that special moment. It can then be stretched, framed and hung on the wall – a lasting reminder of the love and passion that was shared. The kit also provides a unique bonding experience for the couples involved, as they work together as a team to craft their own unique masterpiece.”
