Periscope

Boudoir is such an intimate form of photography, that I always encourage women who are considering it to try to get a feel for a potential photographers personality beforehand to make sure they would feel comfortable in their session. This isn’t always an easy task though, especially with social media making it possible for one to hide behind a persona. I mean, there are photographers who actually steal other photographers work to promote their businesses, after-all. And photographers who falsely advertise using professional models, instead of real clients. So, how can you figure out who to trust?

Enter Periscope. It’s a new app by Twitter. I’ve been testing it out the past week or so and I am hooked! This is such a great way to be a voyeur into someones life, to see their authenticity, to get an idea of their humor or lack thereof, and to just get to know their personality better. For a boudoir session, it’s helpful if your photographer feels like an old friend, as most of our clients say their experience felt like. Well, with Periscope you really do feel like a friend (before your session!), if you participate in the conversation.

So far, I’ve mostly just hopped on there with silly ‘scopes’, usually with my long-time friend from childhood, Corinna. Something about being around her brings the little girl back out of me, so if you decide to tune in to our escapades, be prepared for lots and lots of laughter and shenanigans. We usually scope from the gym though, so hopefully that will inspire you with your own workouts!

But, eventually I would like to Periscope specifically for my clients and/or potential clients, so be on the lookout for those! And, please let me know of any topics you might want me to touch on.
