Happy 2015, everyone! It’s a fresh start for all of us and I plan on making 2015 the best year yet! Today is the day I reflect on the past year and think about ways of making the new year even better. Here are just a few of the things I’m going to be working on in 2015:
Blogging and Social Media
You may have noticed I have put marketing on a back burner for a few months. I was placing my focus solely on shoots, my lovely clients and a bit on my personal life too. So, unfortunately my blog grew very quiet as a result. Hoping to change that in 2015 though. I already got a head start by blogging a few recent shoots with Angel Porrino, Claire Sinclaire and Bond {a nail lounge} and I recently ramped up my instagram efforts too, so I’m feeling pretty good about all of that so far. Feel free to follow me on instagram if you aren’t already. You’ll not only see more of my work and behind the scenes stuff there but also little glimpses into my personal and professional life.
More Road Trips!
Last October I travelled alone to Scotland for my good friends wedding and had the absolute time of my life. While there, I did an awful lot of soul searching and promised myself that I would not only travel more but go see my good friends in LA more often! There’s just something about going to new places that makes me feel so alive! But, as a photographer it also fills me with so much inspiration.
So, one of my goals is to marry traveling for pleasure with business by offering destination boudoir wherever I go! Los Angeles (Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu areas) would be first on my list since so many of my best friends live there. But, I’m also considering Palm Springs, Orange County, Sedona, Phoenix, San Luis Obispo and other cool locations as well. If you are in one of those areas, and are interested in a boudoir photography session, please message me and we will get the ball rolling!
But, I also want to take more road trips with my team, just for fun! I was reminiscing over the last time we did a spontaneous shoot while on the road to Phoenix and am completely craving another experience like this!
Get in front of the camera more!
Also while in Scotland, I decide to hire a photographer to document me being there, even though I absolutely detest being photographed! I know, I know, what’s good for the goose… But, I didn’t want to come home for such an amazing trip with just a bunch of selfies, since I was traveling there alone. So, I found an amazing photographer to help me out. Karolina Kotkiewicz was an absolute dream to work with and I had so much fun even though I literally only had one hour of sleep the night before! (Don’t make that mistake for your own shoots, ladies! Trust me, the lack of sleep will show in your photos!) But, what a great experience it was. I may do this every time I travel now. It was quite addictive! Here are a few of the shots she captured for me:
I also recently let my friend Denise take a couple of shots of me on the night of my birthday while we were getting ready for the night out!
Needless to say, we had a blast! But, more importantly, it made ME feel empowered and beautiful! I am planning on doing this again soon but this time I will hand over my camera to my makeup artist Kat and she and I will shoot each other!
Building better relationships
When it’s all said and done, the only thing that really matters are the people and love we have had in our lives. I am so incredibly grateful for my clients. Because of you all, I am living an absolute dream life by being able to continue to pursue my greatest passion in life, boudoir photography. And, I am so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. My hope in 2015 is that I can give back to you all as much as you have given to me. I really want to work on building better relationships this year. I hope you will join me in this!
Let’s all plan on putting ourselves out there more in 2015 by living more passionately, being more vulnerable, taking more risks and creating more adventures! Here’s to an amazing 2015 for all of us!
P.S. I also wouldn’t mind shooting for Playboy in 2015. Just throwing that out there. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
